Kevin Pearce won The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2008

The riding is over for this year. Not surprisingly the favourite Kevin Pearce won, Shayne Pospisil placed second, and Peetu Piiroinen placed third.  The world record wasn’t broken, but who cares. The Saturday came with sun and blue sky. We could not have dreamed of better weather. The sun was shining and warming the spectators, who were cheering for their favourites. It was a great turnout, the audience filling up the tribunes. It’s impossible to estimate the number of spectators, but estimating around 4-5000 would not be wrong.
Right now the rapper Akon is entertaining the crowd. Earlier today Pirate Love and Ida Maria played the heat into a frosty but enthusiastic audience. The stands are giving out free stuff to the hungry crowd.
All in all the day turned out to be one of the best on the history of The Oakley Arctic Challenge.
That’s it for this year folks! Let`s party!
