By winning The Oakley Arctic Challenge Kevin Pearce took over the TTR Worldtour lead.

What can I say? What a day... What a day... What a day! Did I say that three times, that’s not nearly enough. WHAT A DAY! And one more time in bold: WHAT A MIGHTY GOOD DAY!!! We have seen the future of snowboarding on the Holmenkollen arena in Oslo, Norway.

The riding is over for this year. Not surprisingly the favourite Kevin Pearce won, Shayne Pospisil placed second, and Peetu Piiroinen placed third. The results from todays final is here...

The semifinals are done, and we got the results.

Jamie Lynn, one of the biggest snowboarding legends is also visiting The Oakley Arctic Challenge. He is also a talented designer who has designed his own boards for the last ten years.

It is early Saturday morning, but even so The Oakley Arctic Challenge 08 is alive. The weather is fantastic, the sky is blue, and the temperature is just right.

For these six judges, snowboarding is their life, their platform, their passion, a ticket to adventure, an expression and good times. They are all invited to decide who wins and who looses at this years Oakley Arctic Challenge

Today Terje Håkonsen introduced a new concept in snowboarding, and the ”Evening classics” took off in style!

On Wednesday evening SWAG and TAC could offer a sign/meet-and-greet with some of the riders in SWAG Bogstadveien.

Ignoring the combination of late night socializing and jetlag, the riders went on the bus to Holmenkollen on Wednesday morning for the second day of training.

When the riders arrived at the arena, the quarterpipe was in close to perfect condidtion for some serious riding.

Up here at the arena, things are starting to look really good. The quarterpipe is beautifully shaped by Claes, and all his hard work has payed off for sure.

The Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC) and Protest invited all photographers that have attended the event to an historic photo contest. Travel support and prize money is on the table. Well established photographers, young talents, family and friends have submitted their best lifestyle and actions shots from The Arctic Challenge. Protest will hold an exhibition of the finalists at Tekethopa in Oslo from Tuesday 19th February.

Three, two, one.. the quarterpipe is getting into shape, and first day of practice in Varingskollen for the DnB NOR Arctic Open went down Thursday. The Oakley Arctic Challenge is getting closer each day.

DnB NOR Arctic Open is the last chance to qualify for The Oakley Arctic Challenge.  The warm-up and registration starts Thursday 14th February.

The last three years the administration in The Oakley Arctic Challenge has made a special soundtrack for the event. This year the tracks ”One way or the other” and ”Midnight Special” (with Terje Haakonsen himself on the triangel), is like champagne of the finest rockbrand to the ears.

The Slopestyle portion of the sixth annual Honda Session, a Swatch TTR FIVE(5)STAR Event, went down last night in Vail, Colorado USA. The Session took place under bright lights with the event’s signature pyrotechnics blasting a huge flame into the air as riders hit the last jump.

Getting an invite to The Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC) is pretty hard. Only TTR Top10 and a few wildcards can enter. On top of that come the winner and highest air from 3 qualifying events in Europe and US. Final access point is The Arctic Open – TAC’s own qualifying event in Norway on February 16.
