You’ve been a big contest rider for a while, second at the Nokia Air&Style for a couple of years running, a solid third at the BEO Halfpipe last season. How do you approach contests, I mean what is you mind set.
I always try to not stress or pressure myself. I try to have fun and give the best I can. More you can’t do, you know. I don’t really care that much if I place very well or not, I just want to be happy with my performance and stoke out the spectators.
List your top 5 contest experiences and why?
-Nissan X-Trail 2005, Alice in Wonderland
-Air&Style 2004, Room 155, best Party ever.
-
Arctic Challenge, that’s how we like it.
-Chiquita Quarterpipe Arosa 1999, I was 17 and 40’000.- francs richer
-Toyota Big Air 2005, Powder landing in the finals
You have also managed some of the sickest snowboard Video Parts in the past 3 years. How tough is it to manage the video part, company photo shoots and contests?
You have to find the balance between and motivate yourself for the next. That’s why I don’t do too many events, after a few contest early season I can’t wait to film again and also on company shoots I don’t worry about shots too much, just enjoy the new gear and amp myself on shredding again.
What is it like working with Absinthe Films?
It’s super fun! We are all a big family, fond of snowboarding.
Absinthe films let’s me progress the way I want, the way snowboarding wants it…Being open for new and creative things, futureproof things (-;)
You have been working on your own clothing brand called ‘Arcus’. Tell us a little bit about that…
We soon have a 5-year history! 2 shredders, Fredi Kalbermatten, me and an ill graphic designer, Mauro paolozzi, we started this down to earth clothing brand called Arcus. There no big business idea behind it, we are just to wear our own gear…
The team, that’s us, the design that’s us, 100% real shizzle!
There have been a lot of changes on the TTR World Snowboard Tour this year. What do you think about what is happening?
Snowboarders take over their sport again. There’s only one destination and we decide it, because we love it.
Thanks for your time, and good luck – any shout outs?
Thanks to TTR for keeping it real!
