The Organic Challenge

Terje Haakonsen’s engagement for a healthier lifestyle is reflected in The Oakley Arctic Challenge. TAC has always focused on good food, fun activities and a global level competition all in a chill, relaxed atmosphere.
We have always provided our guests and the public with a range of quality foods, emphasizing on regional cuisine as an extension of the cultural experience, and refusing to serve fast-food. At TAC we encourage you to chew before you swallow and take your time to enjoy that process. Trust us, its worth it.
Enjoy good food and share it with others. TAC is joining a global movement against unsustainable, over-industrialized farming and production practices. But to be cristal-clear, we are not missionaries and this is not a religious concept. What we want is to enjoy good food and share it with others, a surprisingly simple idea. Done right it will contribute to the growing awareness of the alternatives out there.
The Organic Challenge is exploring how to turn into a fully organic event, which is not a simple task. There are extensive regulations that must be followed. In order to do this we have received support from from, Oikos – Økologisk Landslag, Fairtrade Max Havelaar, Villa Organic among others. This has been a rich learning experience for us, and we hope some of it will benefit our guests.
Øh, Ø-Mark? Perhaps the most essential tool for Norwegian consumers is the Ø-mark, which guarantees that consumer products are certified as organic. The mark is officially regulated to ensure that minimum requirements are maintained throughout the entire production process, and producers using the Ø-mark are inspected on a yearly basis.
All the food on our event is prepared by the catering company Kramprud-Larsen A/S. To make sure that Kramprud-Larsen A/S have the finest organic products, are we cooperating with some of the best in the biz:
