The quietness before the storm...

It is early Saturday morning, but even so The Oakley Arctic Challenge 08 is alive. The weather is fantastic, the sky is blue, and the temperature is just right. The sun is shining down on us making the venue magical. We couldn’t dream of better weather. Already at nine in the morning a lot of people has already arrived. All the stands are preparing for the arrival of the spectators, making their coffee, adjusting the exhibition of clothes and giving out samples of merchandise. All the volunteers are being directed to their destinations, and drinking coffee, a lot of coffee. The broadcasting people are rigging up their cameras.
This beautiful Saturday morning even has its own soundtrack! The bands that are supposed to play here later in the day are having sound checks. Some people are running, some people are stressed out, some people are just standing around smiling. But everyone knows that everything that has happened on the days before this has just been rehearsal, this is the most important day, this is the day it all happens, this is what we have been waiting for. This is The Oakley Arctic Challenge 08!
